Garden Sieve Noticeboard Part 2: Tutorial

I'm super-duper excited with how well this
garden-sieve noticeboard project turned out.
Easy, cheap and gorrrrrgeous.

You want a tutorial?
You got it...

You will need:

Jute String
A Garden Sieve
Strong Card
Gorgeous Fabric

Step 1:

Thread the jute string in an evenly-spaced cross-cross pattern over the sieve.
I did this one piece at a time, leaving long ends either side.

Step 2:

Cut a piece of strong card so that it fits snugly inside the sieve.

Step 3:

Turn the sieve upside down. Making sure that all string ends are out of the way, lay your ironed fabric right-side down onto the inside of the sieve. Then place the cardboard circle over the top. Once you've checked that it all looks fine from the front, trim the fabric to a neat shape (leaving some leeway for emergency adjustments).

Step 4:

Tie the ends of each length of string firmly together.
This ensures that the front stays taut.

Step 5:

Admire your new Garden-Sieve Noticeboard...
All will be fully revealed on Friday...

Oh, and did I mention that we had the baby scan?

You must be so thrilled it's a girl, not that boys are any less awsome, but if I got it right you were pretty lonely in your all_boy family! Guess what I'll be looking for next spring in the "attic sales" around here? A girl? It might not be ok with the social services, so I'll try to find a garden sieve (there wasn't one in all the junk I found in the back garden!). Are you already looking for a name? (not for the sieve, of course!!)
Wishing all the best to the two girls!

Many many congratulations, little boys are lovely, but there is nothing like a daughter in your life to spice things up, plus you get to do all the things you wanted to do as a little girl - and then some! Happy happy times ahead. xxxx

Sarah,
Congratulations on your baby girl! I know your most handsome husband is just as excited as you are...maybe he is waiting for the perfect (romantic) moment to tell you so! Don't I remember him getting into your blog with a special message to you last year???
I'll be back to see the finale of the sieve!

I don't know how many boys you have, but we had 3 lovely girls before we had a boy, so my husband was happy not to be the only male.
